This wonderful area of contrasts takes in the whole of the central part of Corfu from the east to the west coasts. Sea views, countryside views, mainland views as well as the sunrise or spectacular sunsets – these are all on offer to you from within the area. Full of wonderful hidden sleepy traditional hillside villages, magnificent beaches, close proximity to Corfu Town, the airport as well as the port – wherever you decide to look in the area there is something to offer every taste and lifestyle. For the sailors amongst you, there is the prestigious and highly organised Gouvia Marina – the largest marina in the Ionian Sea which has up to 1235 berths and dry dock facilities for approximately 520 boats. For golfers, there is the the 18-hole golf course in the Ropa Valley and for walkers, plenty of inland or coastal trails throughout the region. We should also not forget the popular Aqualand water park for those looking for a thrill or just spending time in an oasis of water.

Hotspots include

Dasia and Ipsos - two adjacent villages which have long beaches around which the resorts have developed.

Kontokali – Gouvia – Gouvia Marina - Kontokali and Gouvia are geographically adjacent to each other and they share the deep bay and natural harbour of Gouvia which dates back to Venetian times. Both villages have access points to the island’s prestigious and highly organised Marina.

Agios Ioannis – inland, this is a quaint traditional village and also the location of the Aqualand water park.

The Ropa Valley - a vast flat green and fertile area which gives access to some of the smaller inland villages and it’s also the location of Corfu’s well known and popular 18-hole golf course.

Pelekas – a typical Corfiot inland village, central-west on the island which is close to numerous of the Island’s wonderful beaches and is also famous for its wonderful sunsets.

Glyfada – a beachside resort which extends around the wooded foothills of Pelekas village and has a long, wide and sandy beach.

Agios Gordios - its wonderful mountain backdrop, striking rock formations and a long sandy beach are all what the western side of Corfu are famous for.

Sinarades - a traditional village full of history which is situated in the hills above Agios Gordios beach.

Kouramades - a small, traditional inland village with dating back to the 13th century.
